SF6 Emission Calculator
Emission monitoring can be done using Gas Density instruments that are already installed on switchgear. This can easily be done by taking periodic measurements of the density levels on the dials. However, due to customer request these dials are often printed in units of temperature-compensated pressure (PSI, bar, etc. at a reference temperature of 20°C) instead of the actual density itself (normally measured in grams/liter). This adds precious time to the process which compounds when many tanks are being analyzed.
WIKA has made this process much easier because the math is automatically performed using our SF6 Emission Calculator. The measurements of 2 readings are input with the following output:
- Both density levels (with choice of units)
- Emitted SF6 gas mas between the measurements
- SF6 mass flow-rate between the measurements
- Annual SF6 leakage rate
In addition, documentation data can be entered in on the right side providing a thorough way to keep track of SF6 levels throughout a substation.
